Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid), Serum
|Methodology:||Liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS)|
Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Lavender-top (EDTA) tube - 1 ml serum.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer separated serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube. Include patient's age on the test request form.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Room Temperature
Causes for Rejection : Gel-barrier tube (SST)
Stability: Ambient/Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
