Kappa κ and Lambda λ Free Light Chains Plus Ratio, Quantitative
Patient preparation: Patient should be fasting for eight hours to avoid lipemic sample interference.
Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Red Top Tube - 0.5 ml serum.
Specimen Preparation: Sample should be allowed to clot and the serum separated as soon as possible to prevent hemolysis. If tube other than a gel-barrier tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigarated
Unacceptable Conditions: Microbially-contaminated specimen; specimen containing particulate matter; lipemic or hemolyzed specimen
