0459The Complement system is composed of a series of circulating blood proteins that serve as mediators of the inflammatory response. Measurements of this protein aids in the diagnosis of immunologic disorders, especially those associated with deficiencies of complement components.
Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) -0.5 ml.
Specimen Preparation: Serum free from hemolysis is the recommended specimens Allow blood samples to clot (15 mins). Separate the serum from the cells by centrifuging for 10 minutes. Store serum at 2-8°C until analysis.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Stability: Serum Samples can be stored at 2-8° C for up to 8 days and frozen < -20°C for up to 3 months without any loss of activity.

Reportable Range is from 8.0 to 150.0 mg/dL. Samples with values above the upper limit are diluted and repeated.
