Herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) Antibody, IgG

Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Plain Red - 1 ml serum.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Transfer serum to a Standard Transport Tube.
Parallel testing is preferred and convalescent specimens must be received within 30 days from receipt of the acute specimens. Mark specimens plainly as "acute" or "convalescent."
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Unacceptable Conditions: Contaminated, heat-inactivated, hemolyzed, or lipemic specimens.
Stability: After separation from cells: Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
