Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase Antibody(GAD)
|Methodology:||Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)|
Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) OR Red Top Tube - 0.5 ml serum.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature . Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. If a red-top tube is used, transfer separated serum to a plastic transport tube. Avoid hemolysis.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Room temperature
Causes for Rejection: Nonserum sample; grossly hemolyzed or lipemic sample
Stability: Ambient: 1 week; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 1 month
